Dr. Phung (Fong) is a Board Certified Optometrist in California and Oregon with over 30 years experience in the optometric field. He is certified to diagnose and treat eye infections. He is also co-management for Lasik. Dr. Phung is currently in his 30 years of private practice in Scripps Ranch/Mira Mesa.
Dr. Phung is Vietnamese-Chinese-American. He speaks fluently in all three languages. He came to the United States from Vietnam in 1975 through immigration. He since grew up in San Diego and claimed San Diego as his home town. As a U.S. citizen, Dr. Phung appreciates and enjoys every freedom and opportunity that the country has provided. By doing so, he worked very hard to achieve his American dream to become Doctor of Optometry. |
Dr. Phung graduated from Crawford High School in 1982 and went on to the University of California at San Diego for his Biochemistry major. He continued his optometric training at the Southern California College of Optometry, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science in 1988, and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990.
Dr. Phung is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, San Diego County Optometric Society, SCCO Alumni, and the National Parks Conservation Association. He also volunteers with the Vision USA and Sight for Student to provide free exam and glasses for the low income individuals.
Dr. Phung enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, nature, night photography, nature oil painting, football, snowboarding, and classical guitar.
His practice goal is to provide excellent vision and eyecare services to all patients with a personalized professional touch. His priority goal is to establish a long lasting health care relationship with his patients.
